Glad your sis was not more seriously physically injured - although I can understand it will take a while for the psychological harm to mend.
If it makes you feel any better there is a bill about to be introduced to parliament that will broaden the grounds on which a fixed term tenancy can be broken. Well done to your sister and your mum for fronting up on the issue - you could well have made it easier for others if they have the unfortunate experience to face the same situation in the future. MPs take a lot of notice of TV.
Marsden - The attitude of the property manager was a refreshing change - most of the time they will enforce downright illegal demands on tenants if it is the wish of the landlord. Good to see a humane response - and in this case I think its good for business. Speaking more generally its interesting how quickly the attitudes of 'business' change as soon as the TV camera arrives!
Their attitude changed after I told them I would hold them personally responsible for any harm that came to my sister if they made her stay. I think I sounded sufficiently scary...and the guilt tripping to boot.
I wish I'd thought of contacting the media last week, but obviously I'm off my game...it took me til Monday to think of it, even after watching fair go with my mum.

And the property manager seemed to be basically giving the landlord the finger on national TV - wonder if that'll be good or bad for his business.
