If it makes you feel any better there is a bill about to be introduced to parliament that will broaden the grounds on which a fixed term tenancy can be broken. Well done to your sister and your mum for fronting up on the issue - you could well have made it easier for others if they have the unfortunate experience to face the same situation in the future. Marsden - The attitude of the property manager was a refreshing change - most of the time they will enforce downright illegal demands on tenants if it is the wish of the landlord. Good to see a humane response - and in this case I think its good for business. Speaking more generally its interesting how quickly the attitudes of 'business' change as soon as the TV camera arrives!
