I hate university computer labs

Why do people think that it's ok to speak at normal volume in a full computer lab that is not currently being used for a class? If they're doing a tutorial and have to talk to each other, all good, I can deal, I'm probably not meant to be in there anyway...but yacking about their weekend, concert tickets they're booking etc, without making any attempt to lower their voices = RUDE!

I'm half way through my essay. Gotta find another 2000 words.

Can't concentrate with all this noise.

If I wanted to be distracted from my essay by inane conversation I'd be at the UCSA playing cards or something.

Maybe I should abandon ship and head to the bar. I'll take my books so at least I can pretend to be studying.
