Yes! Yes yes yes!
I was just about to go online to do a rant about this. Because hey, guess what... the police are actually the ones that have to deal with the violent men (and women), who arrest the rapists, who help bring (at least some of) the domesticly violent to justice, or at least stop them when they can. (I say this with an awareness that previously, they were reluctant to act because of the assumption that what happens within the home is less important than what happens on the street between non-couples. And with an awareness that they are now a lot more aware of this, too. Yes, and they probably don't even take sociology papers, will wonders never cease.)

As Kiri pointed out, the lack of co-operation with a council that I'm sure would have been very happy to let us have our say in a considerate way (without getting in front of those busses or that ambulance) very nearly reduced what should have been a fantastic protest to a child's rebellious tantrum.

Thankyou, Ankhst. (And watch my space for more! :p)
