I'm off to Auckland again for Armageddon. If anyone wants me to bring back autgraphs or merchandise, or just something from Auckland an shop, let me know, give me any necessary money and I'll see you at the end of the month.

I leave on the 21st, so if you have a request that needs paying for, you'll need to get me cash before then, or contact me for a bank account number to tranfer it into. I will not have any spare money, so no IOUs.

My sister's attacker went on 'trial' today (not real court, group family nonsense because of his age). While mum and Serena were there, the house they're staying at was broken into.

The only thing taken was Serena's laptop and pocket money.

I turnedf on my computer this morning, opened winamp, put my music on random and hit play.

I get:

1) My choir singing Souverne Vous (asking the Virgin Mother to keep us safe, sort of a Hail Mary deal)
2) Evanescence - My Immortal (I try so hard to tell myself that you're gone. Though you're still with me, I've been alone for so long)
3) Nick Cave etc - Death is not the End
4) Elton John - Last Song (between  a father and his son) - (all about dying and the importance of having your loved ones near.)

So...I start my 'relax and make myself beautiful' day in tears.

At least I have an eye pack to reduce puffiness and under eye circle...it might help.

Jo: got the final ruling. She's questioning the figures they came to, but it was a good compromise...pay up to the hearing only. She says that should be 1 wee more than she'd paid already, LL reckons 3.

A+!

I soooooo deserved that.

Well, after my half dead appearance at the dessert evening, and disappointing lack of dessert consumption, I have recovered some of my digestive capacity and can now move about again.

I spent all of Saturday and most of Sunday in bed, unable to move from such a  tender stomach. However, the vomiting stopped at Lisa's, and I even managed to have a small slice of blueberry cheesecake and a brownie for breakfast on Saturday.

But, picking up my dad from the airport last night proved too much, and I had to get him to drive home. So, even though I'm at school, I'm not feeling too flash today either.

And, sorry people, Ryan doesn't want to share his secret Brownie recipe. :-(

Ryan and I are planning a trip to Auckland Armageddon. We're planning on coming up the Tuesday before and Leaving the Wednesday after, to give us a chance to see 'Phantom' and see the sights etc.

Can anyone put us up for some or all of that time? We can throw a little cash your way.

Also, anyone got a car they could loan us for some or all of that time? Probably not needed over the weekend, but it'd be nice to be a bit mobile during the week.

Sitting in my office, watching the snow settle. Feeling glad for the university's heating.

Well, Perdita's gone. We took her to the vet on Sunday. She was so sick and weak that she could barely walk, couldn't eat at all and hadn't purred properly in at at least a week.

Before we went she asked me to sing a song for her (long and complicated explanation of asking that I'd rather not go into right now):

Bist du bei mir
geh ich mit Freuden
zum sterben und zu meiner ruh.
Ach, wie vergnűgt wär so mein Ende,
es drűkten deine schőnen hände
mir die getreuen augen zu.

I had to get one of the other postgrads on my floor to translate it, cause I could see that the English words didn't quite match up. Apparently my cat understood German.

Roughly translated:
Are you with me?
Do I go with friends to my death and my rest?
Ah, how content would be my end
as your gentle hands close my faithful eyes.

After I sang it for her (badly, with plenty of missed notes and pauses to regain my breath), she climbed up onto my chest, gave me a 'kiss' and purred properly (but weakly) for the first time in ages.

I held her as they gave her the injection and cuddled her for about half an hour as she died and well after. Then I gently closed her faithful eyes.

Oh it was a cunning, cunning plan. To save myself huge dry cleaning bills over the next few weeks/months as my cat's kidneys slowly give way, I decided to use my picnic blanket as a bedspread.

Cunning! Mwahahahaa take that incontinent kitty!

It worked too.

A couple of 'accidents' (even a bit of breakfast yoghurt) were easily cleaned up without the need for a new duvet.

Until tonight...

I bought a 3 piece quarter pack for dinner. I shared it with the furry flatmate. I got 1 piece of the chicken and the skin from the other 2. She was eating so much so fast she choked. I lolled.

I had nightmares last night...about getting a C on an assignment.

I has the most loveliest boyfriend ever. He is drawing a comic book for me, of me (my story/text, his art/expertise).

And a new user pic. *SQUEE*

Life is hectic. I am overworked and under socialised. Got a presentation on Thursday that's taking up all of my (and Ryan's) time. Haven't even looked at the next 2 assignments I have to do...but that's what the holidays are for.

I have 2 costumes to make for Armageddon. I'm going as Sumomo from Chobits and Mia Marvel, from my Soci 402 presentation comic book (I'm writing it with Ryan). Mia Marvel is a blatent rip off of Mary Marvel at this stage, but we may change her if we use her again. I have the patterns and most of the fabrics/notions. Hopefully they'll be as quick and easy to make as they appear to be.

I'm loving this comic book writing thing. We make quite a good team too.

Yes, I'm live.

I should be asleep. I will be soon.

Proper update later. For now, just letting people know I'm alive and ok (if a little freaked out about the year ahead).

I've been spending all of my spare time with Ryan...new love and all. XD

I promise to get more social soon.

I came down with a horrible cold on Sunday.

Stayed in bed most of Monday. Got up to go to work for 2 hours.

Got home, sicker than before, with an overheating car. Seems there's a split pipe in the cooling system.

Went to bed.

Woke up Tuesday feeling even worse. Called in sick for work, can't teach if I'm this sick.

Ryan, lovely fellow that he is, came over with lemsip and orange juice and kept me company for a few hours.

Dad came home to look at car and determined he can't fix it.

So...I'm feeling better today, will probably be up to working tomorrow night, but now I have no transport.

I can't go to Pixi/Newt's BBQ coz I'm going out for dinner with Ryan's family, and have no car to drive out afterwards.

I have no money to pay someone to fix the car for me, and can't earn any without my vehicle. CRAP!

Ryan painted a really cute picture of me for Valentines Day. He gave it to me this morning before me presentation. He came along to hear me present my research and lend moral support, then we went out for lunch and bookshop haunting.

I have such a lovely boyfriend. XD

At work tonight one of my students told me (for maybe the third time) that he thinks I'm really pretty. lol.

It's a hard life being so damned wonderful. *giggle*

Got all the way to uni and realised I've left my cellphone and wallet on the kitchen table.

I'd go back and just work form home again if I didn't have a meeting at 1.

...I could ring Ryan and get him to bus to my place and then out here to uni, but by the time he did that, I might as well just go home after my meeting.

*Grumble*

I has a Ryan!
