Yay! The car passed it's WOF first time!
It was a close call. The back brakes are crap (but that's their design at fault), and my front right wheel was about to fall off. They fixed the wheel for me, so I should be safe(r) now.
Now I have to follow through on the promises I made it, which is harder than it first appeared.
I need to find someone in Auckland who is willing to tune an old Fiat. They're basically minis, but noone is willing to touch them...well, not the two places I've been so far.
I can't easily take it to the guys in Otahuhu, coz it's just too far away. Maybe I should try Roland's guy in Mt Eden.

Date: 2006-09-29 08:25 am (UTC)Try calling the official Auckland Fiat dealers. They prolly have deals with competant workshops for work under warranty so they'll recommend them.

Date: 2006-09-29 10:24 am (UTC)The problem is the carburetor from the sounds of things. They're unwilling to touch a car that still does it the old fashioned way. They don't actually know how to tune a car, just hook up a computer to the onboard one and fix what it says to fix.
Aaron may know someone who can do it for me.
If Risk will come over and have a play with it we can at least determine if it needs more than a tune up. I don't want to send it to a carburetor specialist unless that's absolutely necessary, coz I'm not convinced it needs it.
